Rod Halstead has more than 30 years' experience as a corporate law partner in leading Australian law firms. He is currently National Head of the mergers and acquisitions group of the Australian law firm, Clayton Utz.
His major corporate law practice areas include public and private company mergers and acquisitions, demergers and divestments, ASX listings, equity and hybrid capital raising and initial public offerings and corporate governance.
Over this time he has developed a wealth of experience in advising senior management and boards in relation to strategic issues and has had direct involvement as a member of the boards of major Australian ASX listed companies.
He has considerable experience in dealing with regulatory bodies including the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, the Australian Stock Exchange, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the Foreign Investment Review Board. He has participated in a number of cases referred to the Takeover Panel and is very familiar with its processes.
